Ch 1 First Dreams
It is precisely the soul that is the traveler;
it is of the soul and of the soul alone that we can say with supreme truth
that 'being' necessarily means "being on the way” (en route)

Some serious currents flowed beneath the ocean's sparkling surface. Lovely waves came to shore, splashed around for a moment and vanished into the surf, leaving behind themselves nothing but scattered reflections of light and iridescent foam.
Just above the horizon brother Sun was painting heaven in hues of radiant purple, magenta and gold, while sister Moon, pale silver and full of mystery ascended quietly into the coming of night, greeted her still feint companions, the evening Stars.
On shore, the beach-goers packed their belongings, getting their kids out of the water and after brushing the sand off their feet, starting their journeys back home, home to their dreams and their many responsibilities.
This was life on the surface.
Below the surface, where the great currents, that sustain our lives and our planet,f low, it was time to relax from the days routines and concerns and settle down into those bits and pieces of dreams that call you image by image and intuition by intuition to your own sense of truth and a different destiny.
And it's exactly these bits of dreams, these flashes of possibilities and intuitions that have been coming to Andi's mind with growing frequency and determination.
While for us inspirations and dreams of a different life may be easy to understand, for Andi were very different indeed, for Andi was, and there's no use denying it any longer, Andi was a shark.
Yes, there you have it, Andi was a shark. Shark born, shark raised. Shark plain and simple.
And sharks, as far as Andi or anyone else knew didn’t spend their valuable time day-dreaming about their unlimited potential or their unalienable rights to the pursuit of Happiness
To be a shark was simplest thing in the world. To be a shark was to kill, eat, swim and repeat. Kill, eat, swim, repeat.
Of course now and then there were times to mate, but once that bio-chore was complete, it was back to work.
Way back, when the ancient Mystery Schools still thrived in the depth of the sea, a wise old shark once cried out in a flash of existential satori,
‘Devoro, ergo sum!’
'I devour, therefore I Am.'
And this crystallized the fundamental ground of being for all sharks. This was the existential fact for as long as anyone could remember.
Anyone it seems, except for Andi.
For Andi even as a little adorable pup had a strange fascination with the world above. He spent countless hours trailing cruise ships around the ocean, trying to peek on board, trying to figure out what all these marvelous things were.
But now these fragmentary day dreams and flashes of intuition were getting so frequent and intense, it was getting difficult for Andi to really focus on anything else.
For some time now, ocean life felt increasingly 'unreal' and somehow unimportant, while these day dreams and inspirations began to feel more true and more important than anything else.
And today Andi finally decided to give these dreams the undivided attention they were insisting on for so many years now.
He began swimming towards an ancient cavern he discovered on he depth of the ocean floor some years ago.
This mysterious place, with strange signs and symbols carved into it's rocks wall was his his own little fortress of solitude, a place to think and figure things out without distraction or interruption.
And just as Andi turned toward his destination, a super happy voice called,
'Hey Andi !'
Andi knew that voice. Happily he turned on a dime and saw his very best friend.
"Hey Max!" Andi said with delight.
